All cats are descended from Felis lybica, an African wild cat that hunted small prey. With the advent of early agricultural civilisations, they moved closer to farms to hunt rodents and became domesticated. Despite this, they retained their nature as pure carnivores and still share 95% of their DNA with their wild ancestors.

All recipes are low in carbohydrates. Cats do not need a large amount of this nutrient. The ideal feline diet consists mainly of protein and fat.
